WeBreak Hip-Hop Dance Company was established in 2011 in Long Beach, CA. WeBreak is a bboy-owned, mobile dance company and industry leader pushing breaking education to the next level. We are committed to providing breaking careers for the breaking community. We teach throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County and Las Vegas, Nevada – in preschools, after schools and studios. In 2023, we are gearing up to expand our breaking programs in current regions (LB, OC, West LA, North LA), new Southern California regions, and the US!

Our mission is to teach, serve, inspire, and normalize breaking nationally. We pride ourselves in offering high quality breakdance classes. We are committed to leveraging the art form of breaking by teaching it’s techniques, principles and values to our students. We recognize these values and have created our very own robust breaking programs and curriculum for all ages that foster & promote proper breakdancing techniques, self confidence, discipline, self-expression, health & fitness and teamwork.

WEBREAK BREAKING INSTRUCTOR (PART TIME)

WeBreak part-time instructors teach beginner level breaking classes to students 3-12 years old. To succeed in this position you must have a passion for breaking, prior teaching experience, and the motivation & patience to teach the youth. This part-time position is best for those looking for supplemental income – it can eventually develop into full-time career through our “Area Coordinator Path Forward Program” (AC PFF). Please read the part-time position details below and fill out the application to be considered for current & future open positions.

Description

Part-time instructors are responsible for teaching beginner breaking classes (i.e. preschool, beginners, after schools). You will work with class sizes up to 20 students between the ages of 3-12 years old. Our instructors should have high integrity and are required to pass a background check, provide two references, obtain proof of auto insurance, and provide vaccinations due to our relationships with school contracts. Instructors should possess a deep understanding of the history & fundamentals of breaking, as well as always improving and mastering their skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach WeBreak curriculum and methodology (paid training)
  • Communicate company announcements and other important information with parents
  • Take attendance at every class
  • Teach consistently (2 year commitment)
  • Drive to various locations within your region (paid drive time)
  • Attend online weekly & monthly instructor meetings (paid meetings)
  • Attend and participate in WeBreak events (i.e. Soul Evolution, end-of-session recitals)

Schedule

  • Must be able to work 5-20 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday availability between the times of 9 am – 12 pm (one hour), and 1 pm – 4 pm (one to two hours)
  • Saturday morning classes run from 9 am – 11 am (two hours)

Pay

  • All part-time instructors start at $18* per hour (CA*)
    *Guaranteed paid work hours & pay are discussed during your interview and onboarding process.
    *Starting pay rates are negotiable based on teaching AND breaking experience.
    *Starting pay rates may differ per state of hire & amount of training required.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years bboy or bgirl experience (specifically breaking)
  • Previous experience teaching kids (preferred 2+ years teaching experience, group classes)
  • Mastery of breaking fundamentals (strong understanding of fundamentals and breaking foundation)
  • A love and passion of teaching and training
  • Reliable transportation (your own car & insured)
  • Reliable, excellent communication
  • Motivated to teach the youth
  • At least 2 year commitment to teaching with WeBreak

WeBreak AREA COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

WeBreak Area Coordinators are required to be full-time. You will be responsible to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced breaking classes to students 3-12 years old, while also growing & managing your region – thorough training and support provided. To succeed in this position you must have a passion for breaking, extensive teaching experience, patience to teach the youth, and have a strong innovative and team mindset. Description

WeBreak Area Coordinators are responsible for teaching classes, while also managing & expanding their own region. This position is required to be full-time; guaranteed 40 hours per week (maximum of 20 teaching hours). Our Area Coordinators are expected to be highly responsible, communicative, strong integrity, professional, innovative and have a team-player mindset. Must be able to pass a background check, provide two references, obtain proof of auto insurance, and provide vaccinations due to our contractual agreements with school & organizations. All hired instructors should possess a deep understanding of the history & fundamentals of breaking, as well as always improving and mastering their skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach WeBreak curriculum and methodology (paid training)
  • Communicate company announcements and other important information with parents
  • Take attendance at every class
  • Teach consistently every session (3+ year commitment)
  • Drive to various locations within your region (paid drive time)
  • Attend online weekly & monthly team meetings (paid meetings)
  • Attend and participate in WeBreak events (i.e. Soul Evolution, end-of-session recitals)
  • Professionally and consistently complete administrative tasks (i.e. emails, task management, enrollment and analysis)
  • Expand your region through sales (maintaining current contracts & obtaining new contracts – training and support provided)
  • Managing your region and regional instructors to ensure healthy growth (training and support provided)
 
 

Schedule

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week (maximum of 20 teaching hours)
  • Flexible schedule – each Area Coordinator creates their own schedule based on regional needs.
  • Some scheduling may be rigid due to school contracts that fall during specific day or times (Monday through Friday): preschools between 9 am – 12 pm (one hour), after school classes between 1 pm – 4 pm (one to two hours)
  • As your region grows, and part-time instructors are hired within your region, the less teaching hours you may have and selective you may be on what contracts you teach (Saturdays 9 am – 11 am are taught until you have a part-time instructor to take over)

Pay

  • WeBreak Area Coordinators start at $20-$22* per hour (CA*)
    *Guaranteed full-time paid hours.
    *Starting pay rates are negotiable based on teaching, breaking AND profession experience.
    *Starting pay rates may differ per state of hire & amount of training required.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work full-time (this is a long-term position, NOT part-time or gig-based)
  • At least 7 years bboy or bgirl experience (specifically breaking)
  • Mastery of breaking fundamentals (strong understanding of fundamentals and breaking foundation)
  • Previous experience teaching kids and great with kids (preferred 3+ years teaching experience, group classes)
  • Reliable transportation (your own car & insured)
  • Reliable and excellent communication (both internally & also with clients)
  • A love and passion of teaching and training
  • Motivated to teach the youth
  • At least 3 year commitment to working with WeBreak
