If I don’t have enough classes to cover 10 – 20 hours, what will I be doing?
As a Part-Time instructor, you will be required to market for the company via social media and train on the teaching curriculum and how to use all Webreak software systems. There is also customer service work to be done.

Will I have to teach outside of my region?
Sometimes, however; the goal is for you to teach classes within your region!

How are raises determined?
Raises are based on the following criteria:

  • Amount of training you have had
  • Feedback received from parents/students
  • Amount of classes you are currently teaching
  • How long you’ve been with the company

What is the difference between being a Webreak employee and a contractor?

  • As an employee, taxes automatically taken out of your check. As a contractor, you have to keep track of all your income and expenses and taxes are not taken out of your pay.
  • As an employee, you do not have to submit invoices, you will be paid direct deposit

  • As an employee you get paid sick leave

  • As an employee, you are eligible to get paid time off

  • As an employee you get paid for driving to location

Do I get paid for drive time?
Yes, you must keep a timesheet and you will be paid your normal hourly rate for driving.

What is the difference between a Part-Time Instructor and an Area Coordinator?

    1. Part-time instructors do not work when classes are not in session,  thus they do not get paid during this time while area coordinators work all 52 weeks out of the year even when classes are on break.
    2. Part-time instructors work a maximum of 20 hours/week, an area coordinator works a consistent 40hr/week.
    3. An area coordinator is responsible for building up their area by adding new classes, part-time instructors are primarily responsible for teaching classes
There can be cross responsibilities between both positions, especially if a part-time employee desires to be promoted to an area manager. The more training and experience you have the more your pay, hours and position will increase

The pay seems low for an instructor. I can make more on a per/class basis by myself working at other studios, why should I accept this opportunity?
There are a few things that make this position a lot more unique than most teaching jobs. The four items below make up for the perceived “lack of pay” you may receive by teaching on your own.

  1. Consistency & Stability
You have the ability to get paid whether you are teaching a lot or a little. We guarantee all of our classes for 14 weeks at a time, whether a lot or a little students show up. When teaching on your own, there can be times that there is no class due to lack of students or if you get paid per student, it may not be worth to teach a class with low attendance that can fluctuate week to week.
  2. Growth
You are also developing and using other skills outside of dancing that are applicable to your career advancement at Webreak. There is a chance for career growth and on the job training on skills outside of dance that can be used to grow within the company or out of it. With a regular day to day teaching job, there is not much growth outside of simply adding more classes.
  3. Taxes
As an employee, taxes are taken out for you. When you are teaching on your own, you are required to keep track of all your expenses and income yourself. If you don’t make a certain amount of money by teaching your own classes, you get taxed at a substantially higher rate than employees do.
  4. Protection
Protection, as an employee, if you get hurt on the job, you are able to collect workers compensation. If you are laid off, you are eligible for unemployment benefits. On your own, if you get hurt or laid off, you are on your own to figure things out if you don’t have your own business insurance and protection packages.

  • You will receive free Webreak apparel including a Webreak polo shirt and tank top
