Brian Wright (aka Bboy Brian) discovered he could dance in 1998 through attempting to imitate the dance moves of Usher. Three years later he was introduced to breakdancing through the Homeland Cultural Arts Center in Long Beach, CA. Brian immediately became addicted to the art form and devoted himself to learning as much as he could about breakin and the hip-hop culture. Brian had his first teaching experience teaching elementary school kids for a Long Beach after school program. Throughout the years Brian has had an opportunity to teach multiple classes and workshops for children and adults, work with some of the most talented bboys in Southern California and has choreographed and performed a variety of amazing dance pieces. It was not be until 2005 when Brian had his biggest accomplishment in the breakin world. Along with Perry Guerrero, Brian Wright founded and designed the California State University Long Beach Breakdance Club, one of the biggest and most recognized clubs and breakdance scenes in Southern California. Under Brian’s leadership, the CSULB Breakers went from 5 members servicing 5 people to over 30 members servicing and teaching hundreds of students and dancers from around Southern California and around the world. In 2007, Brian along with Steven Lor, Michael Lor, Val Acosta, Manny Frost, and Ritchie Ramirez won LMU’s Schools For Fools bboy competition. After graduating from college and handing off the CSULB Breakers to the next president Brian got a job as a computer programmer. Brian was laid off of his job on August 31st of 2011 and decided to pursue his dream of having his own dance company, so he, along with the help and support of his wife Michelle, created WeBreak Hip-Hop Dance Company.
